THEME: Me Made May

The theme for this month is “Me Made May” - something wearable, something special. This head to toe ensemble - quilted coat, quilted sneakers, bag, and NEW quilted pants walked the runway at the Fashion Show on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 in Chicago! How’s that for starting May with a “roar”?!?! Pun intended of course … a panoramic view (thank you FreeSpirit Fabrics!) capturing the details of a rainbow of thread and fabrics pair for a very ME, very over the top, “me made” outfit!

My project for this month made use of mutiple weights of thread (50, 80, and Monofilament) - details on the Auribuzz blog here!

Tula unveiled her latest collection, Roar!, at QuiltMarket 2023 in Houston, Texas. I created two jackets for Tula that she showed off in style at the event.

Pattern: BURDA 6489

THEME: Mindful Stitching

I used loads of gorgeous, bright, and beautiful Aurifloss and Aurifil 12wt in a host of traditional stitches and then a whole bunch of stitches I’m pretty positive I just made up as I went along. This project was entirely hand embroidered. I meandered my way along swoops and curves large and small. Extra stitching outlining features at random as the project unfolded. True to form, I kept my love in the details to allow the thread to bring the dimension.
