This month @aurifilthread challenged artisans to infuse the essence of the outdoors into our craft.
In my little corner of the globe the snow has *almost melted*, we are slowly getting a bit more sunlight, and I am wishing for the first buds of spring to make an appearance.
I opened my Untamed 50wt thread collection and settled in behind my machine without a real “plan” other than to just let the illustration in the fabric guide the path.
I went to to work indulging in different stitches, widths, and lengths decorating the blooms.
I really enjoy the juxtaposition of the geometric double quilting in 7001 against the Check Please fabric as it collides with exaggerated and delicate quilting in the blooms, leaves, and stems.
I accented my embroidered thread painting in the florals with geometric straight lines of parallel quilted lines on the diagonal for the body of the bag, and trimmed the back exterior pocket with a neon Measure Twice ribbon from Renaissance Ribbons.
The colors that most called to me were 7001, 2535, and 7002 to highlight the bloomsThe texture from the thread as it worked with the soft and stable in this bag is just downright DREAMY.

I added a detachable interior zip pocket and accented with floral applique on the mesh pocket.
The page is double sided and mesh for storage on both sides allows for great stretch and visibility.
The left interior side of the case is a combination slip and top pocket. The top boasts 4 mesh zip pockets in a variety of sizes that I styled to meet my unique needs in carrying all of my necessities while on the go, or working from my studio.
Also a combination slip and zippered pocket, the right interior side of the case has one large vinyl zip pocket on top that is accented with floral applique - and features a colorful rainbow of rain watering the flowers.
VOILA! The page and tab fastener slips fully behind either side of the long slip pockets for quick storage when not in use.
Even if it snows again (let’s be honest - it will!) the essence of spring in these threads and fabrics is a total feast for the eyes!
